Romania is dominated by the Carpathian mountains in the north and center of the country. Romania is located in southeast Europe, and in the south is the Danube valley pointing toward the Black Sea. Romania’s economy’s most important areas in 2012 were industry (32.4 %), wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation and food services (13.4 %) and public administration, defence, education, human health and social work activities (12.0 %). Export partners of Romania are Germany, Italy and France, while import partners are Germany, Italy and Hungary.
